Great use of dodge & burn (so much easier digitally than in a darkroom!) to give added dimension to portraits.
Plus a very useful technique for minimising wrinkles with a natural result. Perfect for clients that want to look ‘real’.

Packed with examples for using the dodge & burn technique for multiple applications (adding depth & dimension to images, smoothing clothing, minimising wrinkles & skin imperfections) along with the very useful ‘trick’ of utilising a black & white layer to better visualise the light & dark areas of your image. Highly recommended.

An excellent tutorial! Easy to follow with samples that help you develop the sense of light and dark. Seeing the luminance values that create shape!

setting the image to black and white is brilliant. Thank you for helping me see and understand more about luminosity in my images.
Aparna Rautela –
Very well explained. Its a treasure of information on the finer details of editing. The introduction of the black and white layer was a game changer. Thank you!

Of all the tutorial I’ve see, you stop to explain things so much better. I’ve been using Photoshop since the first version ever came out and I still have learned from your tutorials, Thanks!

VERY informative! I learned a lot thru the detail and focus of this tutorial, even after watching many of the regular tutorials. I appreciate the in depth examples on what is possible with this technique. Thank you for this reference tutorial!
