Let’s meet Jonny in this awesome Blue Hour Portrait shoot!
In this journey, I’ll guide you through the lighting patterns and demonstrate how to leverage beautiful light, even when the sun has disappeared behind the horizon.
- Understand the settings used and the reasons behind them, along with insights into the light patterns and what I look for when I shoot my portraits.
- Get key pointers on how I established the color palettes and why they work in this location and light choice.
- I’ll show you the key colors that make this portrait stand out. We’ll cover the Lightroom and Photoshop editing process, along with AI technology. I’ll show you what I look for in a pose and how I create those posing triangles.
This tutorial is packed with information that will help you level up your Blue Hour Natural light portraits!

Another great tutorial. Always learning something new to use on my next edit.

Once again, 5 stars don’t seem to be quite enough. Two things on this one:
1. Daniel’s new teaching / highlighting tools make following the instruction so much more clear. This has been a great enhancement!
2. As in every tutorial he does, he starts focusing on some minute detail and I ask, “Why is he messing with that?” which is always followed by, “Oh wow. Very nice.”
It’s these little details that make his work so noticeable and distinctive. It’s never overboard like many do. Here’s another example of not “over-egging the pudding.” Great job, Daniel – thanks!
